i need to check this out oh jeez madoka-esque feels?
Not Madoka-esque, per se, but more like the shock everyone felt when Mami died/the show ended, where you’re just left sitting there, not really knowing what to do, and feeling so powerless because you can’t really accept what you’re seeing.
This most recent episode was really hard for me to watch, I dunno. I might just be overreacting, and don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up! Not because it’s bad (I obviously don’t think it is) but I don’t want you to watch it, and be underwhelmed.
Basically I’m shaken because I haven’t seen anything like it before.
Emma Watson represents the UN, in her role as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, in Uruguay where she was campaigning for a higher representation of women in politics.
No, I seriously can’t breathe. That was so, so fucking dark, and gruesome, and oh god, oh god, it’s so well written.
My devastation would be on par with what Madoka put me through but it’s too, too different to even compare. I’m shocked. I mean, I don’t know what I was expecting, and clearly haven’t read the manga, but fuck, I didn’t expect that much… brutality.
I could write a dissertation on how unbelievably stunning the animation is, and the effectiveness of the use of color/angles. Tokyo Ghoul is so well put together.
It’s by no means groundbreaking, of course, and maybe this stems from the fact that I haven’t seen many dark animes, but, Jesus Christ, I’m in awe.
It’s beautiful. It’s a beautiful fucking show. It’s been a while since I’ve been this moved by anything. Holy fucking shit.
